xAI pays $300M to Telegram for AI Grok intergration

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov announced on X that Telegram users would soon be able to access Grok AI.

Elon Musk’s Artificial Intelligence company, xAl chatbot Grok, is integrated into Telegram apps available on the chat app’s platform for one year.

xAI will pay $300 million to Telegram in cash and equity, confirmed by Telegram Founder and CEO, Paul Durov, on Tuesday. Telegram also earns 50% of Grok Plus Subscription purchases through the app said Paul Durov.

xAI’s Grok chatbot, which was first offered to Telegram’s premium users earlier this year, might soon be available to everyone.

A video shared by Telegram CEO Pavel Durov on X shows that users can pin Grok at the top of their chats or ask it questions directly from the search bar, similar to how Meta AI works on Instagram and WhatsApp.

Grok can help with writing suggestions, summarizing chats, links, and documents, creating stickers, answering business questions, and assisting with moderation.
