According to Hebrew media, Iranian operatives successfully hacked the phone of former Israeli Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked during the 12-day war in June 2025, compromising her Telegram account.
Sources close to Shaked said the breach occurred after she clicked on a malicious link a classic social engineering tactic. “Her Telegram account was empty and did not contain sensitive information,” one associate told reporters.
The Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency, reportedly informed Shaked about the breach around two weeks after it happened.

Officials noted that this was not the first time Shaked had been targeted. “Iranian intelligence has been trying to monitor her phone conversations for years,” a security source said, adding that then-Shin Bet director Nadav Argaman personally warned her in 2016 and 2017.
Although Shaked left office in 2022, she has signaled an interest in returning to politics, which experts say makes her “a continued target for long-term intelligence collection.”
