New York: Irish actress Caitriona Balfe, widely recognized for her role as Claire Fraser in the hit series Outlander, has publicly criticized the BBC’s coverage of settlement projects in the occupied West Bank.
In a recent Instagram story, Balfe reposted a BBC article titled “Israel approves controversial West Bank settlement project” and challenged the wording used in the report.
Addressing the broadcaster directly, she wrote: “@bbc the law may be controversial to some but it is still a law. These settlements are illegal. Fix your language.”
Balfe, who has a large following online, accused the BBC of shaping a narrative that downplays the reality of the situation. Her post quickly gained attention, sparking discussion about media framing of international issues.
