# AI Engineer Insharah Ayyubi and Shresth Malik Found Dead

**NEW DELHI** : A 25-year-old software engineer, [Insharah Ayyubi](https://alitoday.com/tag/insharah-ayyubi/), was found dead with multiple stab wounds in a rented room in Gurugram, Haryana.

Her colleague, Shresth Malik, was later found dead on nearby railway tracks in a case that police are investigating as a suspected murder-suicide. Officials have said the exact motive is still unknown.

## Family Reported Her Missing

According to police, Insharah's family approached Sector 56 Police Station after they were unable to contact her for a long time.

Using her mobile phone's last known location, police traced her to a rented room in Sector 55, where her colleague Shresth Malik was staying.

When officers reached the room, they found it locked from the outside.

After forcing the door open, they discovered Insharah lying in a pool of blood.

## Post-Mortem Findings

A preliminary investigation found that Insharah had suffered multiple stab wounds, and her throat had been slit.

According to the post-mortem report, she had six injuries on her neck, chest, face, and back, including one deep wound to the neck.

Police believe she had died nearly 24 hours before her body was discovered.

## Colleague Found Dead on Railway Tracks

While investigating the case, Gurugram Police were informed by the Government Railway Police (GRP) that the body of a young man had been found near railway tracks close to Garhi Station.

The deceased was identified as Shresth Malik, 25, through his mobile phone and identity documents.

Police initially suspected a railway accident. However, after linking the two cases, investigators began treating the matter as a suspected murder followed by suicide.

No suicide note has been recovered.

## Both Worked at the Same Company

Police said both Insharah and Shresth worked at Optum, an international healthcare services company.

Insharah, originally from Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, was a software engineer and had completed her B.Tech in Computer Science from Jamia Millia Islamia.

Shresth, from Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, worked as an artificial intelligence engineer. He graduated from NIT Raipur and had previously interned with Samsung.

Both joined Optum in July 2025 and regularly travelled together in the company's office cab.

Investigators said Insharah had moved from her paying guest accommodation to Malik's rented room on July 1. Police are examining whether the two shared a personal relationship, but no conclusions have been reached.

## Investigation Continues

Sector 56 Police have registered a murder case against Shresth Malik based on a complaint filed by Insharah's family.

Police have seized the mobile phones, laptops, and other electronic devices belonging to both individuals for forensic examination. CCTV footage from the rented accommodation and nearby areas is also being reviewed.

A knife recovered from the room has been sent for forensic analysis and is believed to be the suspected murder weapon.

The bodies have been handed over to their families after post-mortem examinations. Police said the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances and motive behind the incident.
