Riyadh : A Malaysian entrepreneur named Arsyan Ismail who recently in trending in business world because he sold his domain ai.com to Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek for $70 Million in Record Domain Deal.

AI.com was previously owned by Malaysian tech entrepreneur Arsyan Ismail, who registered the domain in 1993. Online credit card transactions were not approved until 1996, three years after the AI.com domain was first registered in 1993.

At that time, internet access in Malaysia was also still in its early stages.

These facts have raised doubts about viral claims suggesting the domain was purchased online using a credit card during that period.

A short two-letter domains were rare and not widely understood, but as artificial intelligence became a dominant force in technology, the value of concise, relevant domain names soared.

AI.com domain was not originally bought by Arsyan Ismail in the 1990s, Records show that he acquired the domain in 2021 through the domain brokerage platform SAW.com.

The purchase price was not disclosed.

The domain was owned by Future Media Architects, Inc., a company that manages a portfolio of premium domain names. The firm is linked to Kuwaiti businessman Thunayan Khalid Al-Ghanim.

The AI.com name briefly dominated headlines during Super Bowl LX when Crypto.com aired a high-impact commercial promoting the platform’s capabilities. The sale sets a new benchmark for premium domain transactions, outpacing many historic deals.

The transaction also highlights the premium placed on digital real estate in today’s technology, where a memorable and short web address can become a powerful asset in branding, marketing and product development.
