# CJP Welcomes Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation, Continues Protest Over Pending Demands

**New Delhi:** The Cockroach Janata Party ([CJP](https://alitoday.com/tag/cjp/)) on Saturday welcomed the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, describing it as a significant victory for the ongoing student-led movement.

However, the organization made it clear that its protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital will continue until all of its demands are fulfilled.

Addressing supporters at the protest site, CJP leader [Abhijeet Dipke](https://alitoday.com/tag/abhijeet-dipke/) said the resignation marked a historic moment.

"It was often said that resignations never happen in this government. *Jhukti hai duniya, jhukaane vaala chahiye.* We have done it," Dipke said,

Shortly after news of the resignation emerged, protesters at Jantar Mantar celebrated with cheers and slogans, with visuals showing demonstrators welcoming the development.

Despite calling the resignation a major achievement, [Abhijeet Dipke](https://www.instagram.com/abhijeetdipke/?hl=en) emphasized that the agitation would continue until the remaining demands are addressed.

According to the CJP, the two unresolved demands are:

- Compensation of **₹1 crore** for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide during the examination controversy.

- Resignation and accountability of Delhi Police personnel involved in the lathi charge on student protesters, along with assurance that no action will be taken against those who participated in the demonstrations.

In a post on X, the organization marked Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation as completed while labeling the remaining demands as "pending."

The resignation follows Dharmendra Pradhan's statement that he was stepping down in the larger interest of students, saying he did not want the country's youth to become "trapped in a web of confusion."
