# Elon Musk and Sam Altman Renew Public Feud Over AI, Space Data Centers and OpenAI

**California:** The long-running rivalry between [Elon Musk](https://alitoday.com/tag/elon-musk/) and OpenAI CEO [Sam Altman](https://alitoday.com/tag/sam-altman/) has intensified once again on X.

Both technology leaders exchanging sharp remarks on social media over artificial intelligence, space-based data centers and OpenAI's future.

The latest exchange began after Musk responded to a post on X criticizing Altman, writing, **"He takes scamming to a whole new level."**

The comment renewed Musk's criticism of the [OpenAI ](https://openai.com/)chief, whom he has repeatedly accused of moving away from the organization's original nonprofit mission.

"homeboy you're the one sellling public market investors on short-term space datacenters" altman said mentioned elon's X post.

Altman responded by questioning Elon Musk's plans to build space-based AI data centers, suggesting the idea was impractical.

He argued that underwater data centers could be easier to construct and cool than facilities placed in space.

"We start flying them next year. Maybe you can come see them if your parole officer approves." Musk fired back on X, stating,

He further accused Altman of abandoning OpenAI's founding principles, writing,

"After stealing an open source AI charity, you then stole all of Apple's phone technology! Wow. What do you plan for an encore? That's tough to beat."

The remarks come shortly after Apple filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging the company obtained hardware trade secrets related to future consumer devices through former employees and job interviews.

OpenAI has not publicly responded to those allegations.
