# Haven’t signed any bond that says we won’t protest. : Abhijeet Dipke after release

**NEW DELHI **: Leaders of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) have vowed to continue their protests over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, following their release from preventive custody in Delhi on Sunday, October 11.

CJP leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and [Saurav Das](https://x.com/SauravDassss) alleged that their detention was illegal and said they would continue mobilising against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar until he resigns.

Hours after his release, Dipke wrote on X:

“Haven’t signed any bond that says we won’t protest. We will hit the streets again.”

Addressing a press conference at the Press Club of India, Ranka questioned the authorities’ handling of the protest, saying:

“We are not dreaded criminals; we are not going to Narendra Modi or Amit Shah's house to protest. Protest at designated protest spot is not disturbing peace.”

Ranka also alleged that he, Das and Dipke had been “kidnapped” from an aircraft. He reiterated that the agitation would continue until Gyanesh Kumar resigned.

‘Protests Will Happen Across the Country’

Das called on political parties across ideological lines to unite over concerns surrounding the SIR process, warning that changes to electoral rolls could affect the right to vote.

“Irrespective of ideology, all political parties should unite on the issue of SIR. If the right to vote is taken away, it's not good for any party.” He said

“Protests will happen, not just in Delhi but the whole country till we get accountability.” He added

Das further alleged that the Modi government had created an “emergency-like situation” and accused the authorities of restricting peaceful demonstrations instead of engaging with protesters.

He alleged that police detained the three leaders without formal notice, seized their phones and prevented them from contacting a lawyer.

Referring to the condition imposed on their release, Das said:

“They have said there should be no breach of peace for one year. The breach of peace has been caused by Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Gyanesh Kumar.”

He reiterated the party’s resolve, stating:

“The protests are on... Protests will happen not just in Delhi but the whole country.”

Release Conditions and Continued Detentions

According to Delhi Police, the three leaders were released by the Special Executive Magistrate Court after a surety bond of ₹50,000 was submitted, undertaking to maintain peace and good behaviour for one year.

The leaders disputed the circumstances surrounding their detention and maintained that the bond did not mean they would abandon their protest.

Meanwhile, the report said police continued to detain members of student organisations, including the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), the All India Students’ Association (AISA) and Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS), along with CJP supporters.

CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas was also among those reportedly detained.

The [CJP ](https://alitoday.com/tag/cjp/)leaders said their campaign over the electoral-roll revision process would continue until accountability was secured and Gyanesh Kumar resigned.
