NEW YORK : Meta has officially expanded its subscription strategy by introducing new paid plans across Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, aiming to offer advanced features for creators, businesses, and power users.
The company said the new “Plus” subscriptions are designed to provide users with additional tools, personalization options, and audience growth features while helping Meta diversify its revenue beyond advertising.
Meta clarified that the new subscriptions will not replace its existing Meta Verified service, which currently focuses on account verification, impersonation protection, and customer support.
The new Instagram Plus plan introduces several creator-focused features, including the ability to see how many people rewatched Stories, create unlimited audience lists beyond “Close Friends,” and extend Stories beyond the standard 24-hour limit.
Subscribers will also be able to preview Stories anonymously without appearing in viewer lists, search Story viewers, spotlight one Story weekly for additional visibility, and publish posts directly to profiles and highlights without showing them in followers’ feeds.
Additional features include “Super Heart” animated reactions, custom app icons, profile bio fonts, and more profile pins.
Facebook Plus offers similar social and creator tools, while WhatsApp Plus focuses more on messaging customization with app themes, custom ringtones, premium stickers, extra pinned chats, and chat personalization features.
Meta is also preparing new AI-focused subscription plans under the “Meta One” branding. The company plans to test Meta One Plus at $7.99 per month and Meta One Premium at $19.99 per month.
According to Meta, the Premium plan will provide “deeper reasoning for complex tasks” along with advanced image and video generation capabilities through Meta AI.
The AI subscription plans are expected to begin testing next month in Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia.
Meta is additionally launching separate plans for creators and businesses in selected countries including Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Thailand, and Bangladesh.
The “Meta One Essential” plan, priced at $14.99 monthly, will include verification, impersonation protection, and enhanced profile links.
The higher-tier “Meta One Advanced” plan, priced at $49.99 monthly, will offer additional promotional tools including better visibility in Facebook and Instagram search results, stronger Reel promotion features, audience analytics, scheduling tools, and content protection alerts.
Meta said the company plans to eventually unify these subscription offerings under the broader “Meta One” ecosystem while continuing to expand features over time.
