# Rahul Gandhi and Other Congress Leaders Sit in Protest Outside PM Modi’s Residence

**New Delhi:** Congress leaders [Rahul Gandhi](https://alitoday.com/tag/rahul-gandhi/), Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge led a march towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence on Tuesday to protest the alleged paper leak issue and demand accountability.

The protest began outside the Congress president's residence and moved towards Lok Kalyan Marg.

During the demonstration, police stopped the march and later detained Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and several Congress leaders.

Videos from the scene showed [Rahul Gandhi](https://rahulgandhi.in/) being escorted into a police bus.

Before the detention, Union Minister Jitendra Singh met Rahul Gandhi at the protest site and held discussions.

Rahul Gandhi wrote X Post on the ongoing protest in Delhi.

"We have marched to PM Modi’s house to demand answers from him for the brutalities against young students yesterday."

"The Government doesn’t want to take any accountability or does it want to have a debate on it in Parliament." He added

PM and HM must resign for destroying the future of India’s youth."

According to Congress leaders, the talks did not lead to an agreement.

Congress is demanding:

- The resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

- A discussion in Parliament on the alleged paper leak issue.

The government, however, said it was willing to discuss the matter in Parliament.

Jitendra Singh later claimed that [Rahul Gandhi ](https://alitoday.com/tag/rahul-gandhi/)initially agreed to end the protest if a parliamentary discussion was assured, but later added the resignation of the Education Minister as another condition.

Congress has not accepted this version of events.

The protest follows ongoing demonstrations by students and activists over alleged examination irregularities.

The political dispute over the issue is expected to continue in Parliament and on the streets.
