Kern County, California, experienced a significant seismic event as a 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck near Lamont, just outside Bakersfield, on Tuesday night, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The initial quake occurred at 9:09 p.m. PT, followed by a series of aftershocks that continued to reverberate across the region.
Among these aftershocks, two were particularly notable, registering magnitudes of 4.5 and 4.1, respectively, in close proximity to the epicenter of the main quake. The seismic activity has been concentrated in the Grapevine area, situated between Santa Clarita to the north of Los Angeles and Kern County.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office has reported no immediate damage within LA County, while the LA Fire Department remains in earthquake response mode. The tremors have been felt across a wide area, extending as far south as Orange County.
