New York: Queen Rania of Jordan has once again called attention to the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip by sharing an urgent warning from the head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).

On Friday, the Queen reposted a statement from UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, who confirmed that famine has now reached Gaza City.

His message, shared by Queen Rania on Instagram Stories, read: “Months of warnings have fallen on deaf ears. Famine is now confirmed in Gaza City.”
