BUCHAREST, Romania – A Romanian court has decided that controversial internet personality Andrew Tate will regain possession of his luxury car collection, valued at approximately $4.43 million (€4 million), which was seized during ongoing criminal investigations.
The cars, which include high-end brands like McLaren, Ferrari, Maybach, Maserati, and Lamborghini, were taken as part of a probe into allegations of human trafficking, forming an organized criminal group, and other related charges.
Andrew Tate, along with his brother Tristan and four other suspects, has been under scrutiny since August, when he was placed under house arrest following new allegations.
Despite the severity of the charges, which include trafficking of minors and sexual intercourse with a minor, all involved parties have denied any wrongdoing.
The decision to return the vehicles comes amidst a second criminal investigation, highlighting the complexity of the legal battle surrounding the Tate brothers. Their defense attorney, Eugen Vidineac, expressed approval of the court’s decision, stating that it was the only logical outcome given the case’s specifics.
This ruling does not conclude the legal proceedings against the Tates but marks a significant moment in their fight to reclaim assets seized by Romanian prosecutors.
The case continues to draw public and media attention, reflecting the contentious figure Andrew Tate has become, known for his lavish lifestyle and controversial statements.
The Tate brothers, who are both American and British, were charged in the middle of 2023 for crimes involving human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Their trial hasn’t started yet because there’s a legal challenge going on in a Romanian court in Bucharest.
