Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey is no longer friends with Israel because of what’s happening in Gaza, which he calls a Gaza Genocide.
Speaking to journalists on November 13, following his visits to Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan, Erdogan stated, “The government of the Republic of Turkey, under my leadership, will not continue or develop relations with Israel.”
He said, “Our ruling coalition is firm in its decision to cut ties with Israel, and we will maintain this position in the future as well. We, as the Republic of Turkey and its government, have currently severed all relations with Israel.”

Since October 2023, Turkey has been loudly criticizing Israel for hurting Palestinian people in Gaza, asking for the fighting to stop, and trying to make Israel change its actions.
In May, Turkey stopped trading with Israel completely and had already cut down on sending some things to them, but Israel kept on attacking Gaza.
Since the war started on October 7, 2023, Israel has caused the deaths of over 43,000 people in Gaza and hurt more than 103,000. Also, about 10,000 people are lost and probably dead under collapsed buildings.
