Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), was sworn in as a member of parliament from Hyderabad on Tuesday, June 25. This marks his fifth term representing the constituency.
However, what drew significant attention this time was his oath ceremony. After concluding his oath in Urdu, Asaduddin Owaisi raised “Jai Palestine” slogan alongside “Jai MIM, Jai BHIM, Jai Telangana and Takbeer Allah hu Akbar”, voicing out his consistent support for the people and struggle of Palestine.
Later, on X he said, “Sworn in as member of Lok Sabha for the fifth time. Inshallah I will continue to raise issues of India’s marginalised with sincerity.”
Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of AIMIM, emerged victorious in the Hyderabad constituency in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. He defeated the BJP candidate, Madhavi Latha, by a significant margin. Owaisi secured a massive 338,087 votes, surpassing his previous electoral record.

Madhavi Latha, representing the BJP, put in great effort to win the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat but received 323,894 votes. However, it was Asaduddin Owaisi who secured a remarkable 661,981 votes. The Congress candidate, Mohammed Waliullah Sameer, secured 62,962 votes.
During the elections, the voter turnout in the Hyderabad constituency was recorded at 48.48 percent. Among the various assembly segments, Goshamahal witnessed the highest voter turnout of 54.72 percent.

Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of AIMIM, secured victory in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency for the fifth consecutive time in yesterday’s election. Owaisi has been representing this constituency in Parliament since 2004.
Prior to his tenure, the seat was held by his father, Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, from 1984 to 2004. This victory further strengthens Owaisi’s longstanding association with the Hyderabad constituency and reflects the continued support he enjoys from the electorate.
