Mumbai: Sahar Yunus Shaikh, a young and emerging political figure from Maharashtra, has gained significant attention after winning a seat in the Thane Municipal Corporation elections held in January 2026. She representing the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) from Ward 30 in Mumbra, her victory marked a notable shift in local politics, as she defeated candidates from more established parties. Education Sahar completed her Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) degree from Mumbai University in 2017. Political Career Sahar formally entered politics in late 2025 after aligning with AIMIM. She actively campaigned in her constituency, focusing on everyday civic issues such as water supply, infrastructure, education, and women’s safety.
