Gaza – Hamas has issued its official response to the Gaza cease-fire proposal put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump, acknowledging international efforts to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement delivered through mediators, the group confirmed its readiness to engage in immediate talks over the plan’s central elements, including prisoner exchanges and the future governance of Gaza.
Focus on Cease-Fire and Prisoner Exchange
Hamas said it is prepared to release all ‘Israeli’ captives, both living and deceased, in line with the exchange formula outlined in Trump’s proposal.
This, however, is conditional on the complete withdrawal of ‘Israeli’ forces from Gaza. The group stressed its willingness to begin negotiations with intermediaries to finalize the terms.
The statement added that Hamas “acknowledges the Arab, Islamic, and international efforts, as well as those of U.S. President Donald Trump, calling for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, a prisoner exchange, the immediate entry of aid, and the rejection of the occupation of the strip and the displacement of our Palestinian people.”
Gaza’s Future Governance
Hamas reiterated support for a transitional administration in Gaza, expressing readiness to transfer governance to a “Palestinian body of independent technocrats” formed by national consensus and backed by Arab and Islamic states.

On broader issues raised in the proposal, including the future of Gaza and the rights of Palestinians, the group emphasized that such decisions must be reached collectively through a “comprehensive national Palestinian framework” and grounded in international law and UN resolutions.
Hamas noted that its position was reached following “extensive consultations” with its leadership, Palestinian factions, and international mediators.
