Riyadh – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), has launched the 2025 Food Security Project, aiming to distribute 500 tons of dates to vulnerable Jordanian households and Palestinian refugees across all governorates.
The initiative, announced on Thursday, continues the long-standing humanitarian partnership between Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said the program builds on the success of earlier joint efforts. He noted that in the previous year, 2,000 tonnes of dates were distributed, reaching more than 1.5 million beneficiaries nationwide.
Shibli said the 2025 project aims to expand the “positive” outcomes of previous campaigns, stressing that food security remains both a humanitarian obligation and a developmental priority. He also commended the strong cooperation between the two countries in delivering targeted relief assistance.
KSRelief’s Jordan office director, Nayef bin Saleh Al-Shammari, described the campaign as part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.
He emphasized the Kingdom’s continued efforts to improve living conditions and extend assistance to those in need throughout Jordan.

Distribution operations will cover all governorates as well as Palestinian refugee camps. Aid will be delivered through accredited partner organizations to ensure that assistance reaches eligible families efficiently and transparently.
Officials confirmed that beneficiary lists are being prepared in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development and the National Aid Fund for Jordanian recipients, while the Department of Palestinian Affairs is working to verify and register Palestinian refugee families. Authorities say the coordinated approach ensures fairness, accuracy, and timely delivery of aid.
