At the Mobile World Congress 2024, Lenovo Partners with iFixit, showcased its innovative ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop, although it’s still in the proof-of-concept stage.
Alongside this glimpse into the future, Lenovo announced exciting updates to its ThinkPad and ThinkBook lineup, as well as some handy accessories.
Among the highlights are the refreshed ThinkPad T-series laptops: the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5, ThinkPad T14s Gen 5, and ThinkPad T16 Gen 3. These laptops boast Intel Core Ultra processors, with an AMD Ryzen 8040 option available for the T14 Gen 5.
Notably, they all feature Lenovo’s communication bar, which cleverly houses the camera and microphones, allowing for slimmer top bezels and taller display ratios.

Lenovo has also integrated tactile markings on certain keys, enhancing accessibility for visually impaired users. Plus, they’ve switched up the traditional layout by swapping the Fn and Ctrl keys, a departure from convention.
In a move towards user-friendliness, Lenovo collaborated with iFixit to enhance repairability on the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 and T16 Gen 3. This includes fully socketed DIMM slots, user-replaceable batteries, and easily accessible SSD and wireless adapter slots.
To aid novice repairers, Lenovo has marked SSD and RAM slots clearly and included QR codes with instructional videos inside the laptop body.
Additionally, Lenovo teased the ThinkPad X12 Detachable Gen 2, boasting impressive specs like an Intel Core Ultra U processor, 32GB LPDDR5x soldered RAM, and advanced camera features.

Updates extend to the ThinkBook lineup, with adjustments to the ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 laptop’s keyboard and touchpad, alongside the introduction of new peripherals like the ThinkVision M14t Gen 2 Mobile touch monitor and USB-C Slim travel dock.
Consumers can expect the Intel-configured ThinkPads to hit stores in April 2024, with prices starting at $1,199. The AMD configuration of the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 will follow in May 2024, priced from $949.
The ThinkBook and USB-C dock are set to debut in March 2024, starting at $1,169 and $89.99 respectively, while the portable monitor will arrive in July 2024, priced at $399.
