Indian exit polls are indicating that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is likely to achieve a remarkable victory. This outcome, often referred to as “Modi magic,” suggests that the BJP is expected to secure a significant number of seats in the elections.
The exit polls, conducted after people have cast their votes but before the official results are announced, have shown a strong wave of support for the BJP. These predictions highlight the potential for a record-breaking win for the party, reflecting the influence and appeal of Prime Minister Modi among the Indian electorate.

According to exit polls conducted after India’s recent elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to secure a rare third term with a strong majority. These polls suggest that his party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), may even surpass their performance in the previous election. If the official results, which will be announced on June 4, align with these predictions, it would mark an unprecedented achievement for a prime minister in independent India.
The BJP and its allies are projected to win around 350-380 seats out of the 543 in the lower house of Parliament. However, it’s important to note that exit polls can be unreliable, even though they have generally provided accurate trends over the past two decades. The opposition alliance remains optimistic about their chances and hopes to secure a majority when the final results are announced.
“Modi is extraordinarily popular. Everything about this BJP campaign was about Modi for a reason,” said Neelanjan Sircar, a senior fellow at the New Delhi-based Centre for Policy Research (CPR). “There were certain narratives that emerged that suggested people were upset with the government but translating that into seats was always going to be challenging.”
