Saudi Arabia condemns Israeli attack on Qatari Soil, Vows Full Support

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia on Tuesday strongly condemned what it described as a “heinous” Israeli attack on Qatar, stressing its solidarity with Doha and pledging full support.

In a statement, the Kingdom said it was “placing all of its capabilities” at Qatar’s disposal and backing “all measures it takes to safeguard its security and sovereignty.”

Riyadh also warned of the “severe consequences” of Israel’s continued “criminal violations” and “flagrant breaches of international laws and norms.”

It urged the international community to act immediately to halt Israeli actions that “undermine regional security and stability.”

The condemnation followed an Israeli strike that targeted Hamas leaders in Qatar. Hamas confirmed that its senior figures survived, though five of its lower-ranking members were killed.

Qatar reported the death of one Internal Security Force member and several others wounded in the attack.

Qatar has been a central mediator in negotiations aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza, and observers fear the strike may complicate those efforts.

Later in the day, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah spoke with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

During the call, Prince Faisal reaffirmed the Kingdom’s stance, saying the strike was “a criminal act and a flagrant violation of international law.”

He added that Saudi Arabia is committed to “deploying all its capabilities to support Qatar” in any steps it takes to protect its security.

Prince Faisal also held separate calls with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi.

The ministers agreed on the urgent need for the international community to assume its responsibilities and put an end to Israeli actions that threaten stability in the region.
