Tesla showed off its new Cybercab, a car that can drive itself with no human needed. Elon Musk, the boss at Tesla, said this new car will be cheaper than many expect, costing less than $30,000.
The Cybercab looks a lot like the Tesla Cybertruck but smaller. It has only two doors and seats for just two people in the front. There’s nothing in the back.
What’s really different is that there’s no steering wheel or pedals because It will rely on Tesla’s full self-driving (FSD) software.
This car opens with fancy doors that go up like wings, has bright lights in the front and back, and big wheels that look like discs. Inside, there’s just one screen, no usual charging plug; it charges without wires.
This is Tesla’s new car that’s all about letting the car do the driving.
During the unveiling of the Cybercab at ‘We, Robot’ event in California, Musk said: “We have 50 fully autonomous cars here. You will see Model Y and Cybercab, all driverless.”
Musk noted that Tesla expects to begin the production of the Cybercab, which is highly optimised for autonomous transport, probably in 2026. “We will make this vehicle in very high volume,” he said.
