United States: Google Labs has officially launched the public beta of Opal, a new experimental tool designed to help users build AI-powered mini apps using natural language and visual editing—no coding required.

Currently available only in the U.S., Opal allows developers and creators to chain together prompts, AI model calls, and tools to create custom workflows and applications.

It’s aimed at accelerating AI prototyping, testing ideas, and building proof-of-concept apps quickly.

Opal is part of Google’s ongoing effort to explore the future of AI development. The tool simplifies the app-building process by letting users describe the logic in plain language.

Opal then generates a visual workflow that users can customize through a drag-and-drop interface or further refine with conversational instructions.

The beta release includes a demo gallery featuring starter templates that users can use as-is or adapt to their own needs. Once built, mini apps can be shared directly through the user’s personal Google account.

With Opal, Google Labs hopes to make AI development more accessible, helping both technical and non-technical users bring AI ideas to life quickly, easily, and visually.
