Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone conversation on Saturday to discuss Iran’s retaliatory strikes targeting Gulf countries.
According to the UAE’s state news agency Emirates News Agency (WAM), the Saudi crown prince called the Emirati president, and “they discussed regional developments and the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and several other brotherly nations.”
The two leaders condemned what they described as a “dangerous escalation that threatens the region’s security and undermines its stability.”
During the call, the crown prince expressed Saudi Arabia’s “full solidarity with the UAE, and offered its resources to support any measures the UAE takes.” In response, the Emirati president “expressed his gratitude and appreciation,” the report added.
Meanwhile, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement strongly condemning the Iranian missile attacks that targeted the UAE and other Gulf nations.
The ministry affirmed the UAE’s solidarity with affected countries, stressing that regional security is indivisible and that any violation of sovereignty poses a direct threat to the stability of the entire region.
The statement also reaffirmed the UAE’s rejection of using regional territories as arenas for settling disputes or expanding conflict.
