Mukhtar Ansari, a gangster and politician, passed away on Thursday at the age of 63. He had been admitted to a hospital in Banda district because his health got worse, as confirmed by his lawyer.
Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, he had gone to Banda Medical College due to stomach pain but was later discharged. His family claims he was being poisoned in prison, based on what he had told them before.

According to jail sources mentioned by PTI (Press Trust of India), Ansari’s health took a turn for the worse on Thursday evening, leading to his hospitalization. He had been a five-time MLA from Mau and had been in Banda jail due to eight convictions in the last two years.
