Children’s educator and popular YouTuber Rachel Anne Accurso, widely known as Ms. Rachel, has criticized CNN host Van Jones for his recent comments about Palestinian children killed in Gaza.

During Friday’s episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, Jones referred to online videos showing deceased Gaza children as part of a “massive disinformation campaign” allegedly promoted by Iran and Qatar.

He said, “If you open your phone, and all you see is dead Gaza baby, dead Gaza baby, dead Gaza baby, Diddy.”

The remarks, which drew laughter and applause from the studio audience, quickly sparked widespread outrage online.

Responding on social media, Ms. Rachel condemned Jones’ comments as deeply insensitive and “dehumanizing.”

She wrote, “How can anyone joke about a parent losing their baby? They aren’t ‘dead Gaza baby, dead Gaza baby.’ They have NAMES. That have families who are devastated & grieving. They loved peek a boo & crawled to their mommies & daddies with big gummy smiles. They were their parents’ hearts, beating outside of their chests.”

Her post, which has been widely shared, emphasized the humanity of Palestinian children and the grief of their families, calling Jones’ words “tone-deaf.”

The backlash against Jones has continued to grow across social media platforms, with many users echoing Ms. Rachel’s sentiment and urging public figures to show greater empathy and responsibility when discussing civilian casualties in Gaza.
