Tesla is facing a big lawsuit because a judge said workers at the company’s Fremont plant can sue Elon Musk’s business for discrimination.
The judge, named Noel Wise, said a lawsuit from 2017 showed common problems faced by the workers. They claimed Tesla knew about bad behavior at the plant but didn’t do anything to stop it.
Tesla has said it doesn’t allow harassment at work and fires anyone who does bad things.
Workers say Black people at the factory faced racism, like graffiti and nooses put up where they worked.

Tesla can try to argue against Wise’s decision at a hearing on Friday, but usually, judges don’t change their minds. This could mean Tesla might have to pay a lot of money.
The workers in the lawsuit include those who worked at the Fremont factory since November 2016.
The ruling comes from a lawsuit started by Marcus Vaughn, who said the factory was full of racist behavior. He said people would use racial slurs, and complaints to Human Resources didn’t always get answered.
