New York: Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk is reportedly stepping back from his initiative to start a new political party dubbed the “America Party” to preserve strategic ties within the Republican Party, especially with Vice President J.D. Vance, whom he may support in a potential 2028 presidential run.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Musk has told close associates that forming a third party could strain his relationships with key GOP figures, notably Vance, and shift his focus away from his core businesses.

Instead of launching the new political entity, Musk is considering channeling his financial backing toward Vance if he decides to pursue the presidency in 2028.

Musk has yet to abandon the America Party idea entirely, with some sources suggesting he might revisit the concept after seeing how the 2026 midterm elections unfold.
