After the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, India banned popular Pakistani drama YouTube channels like ARY, Hum TV, and Har Pal Geo. The decision, prompted by the Ministry of Home Affairs’ recommendations, was implemented by the Indian government.

When attempting to access the channels, the following message is displayed: “This content is currently unavailable in this country because of an order from the government related to national security or public order.”

Pakistani dramas, loved for their heartfelt stories, relatable characters, and short episodes, have gained a huge following in India, entertaining many families.

The craze began in 2016 with Zindagi Gulzar Hai, starring Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, and grew with popular shows like Humsafar, Mere Humsafar, and Tere Bin.

Even with political tensions, Indian fans continued watching these dramas on YouTube. Stars like Mahira Khan, Wahaj Ali, and Yumna Zaidi have become widely admired, with vibrant fan pages and online discussions thriving.

Although YouTube channels hosting Pakistani dramas are banned in India, some Jio network users can still access the videos. However, a government-issued ban notification appears on the homepage.
